Being the Hands and Feet of Christ

Connect with others as you serve the community of Rowlett and beyond.

Help Your Neighbor Fund

You can make a financial difference in the lives of church members who are experiencing a difficult time paying bills. Donate online here and mark your donation for the Help Your Neighbor Fund. This is a wonderful way to bless those in need.

FOOD

In partnership with First Christian Church in Rowlett, food is provided for underserved people in the area. Bring your donations to the mission closet in the church office. You can serve in many other ways as well. Current food needs are: peanut butter and jelly, hamburger helper, boxed mashed potatoes, crackers, canned meat and pasta, soup, macaroni and cheese. Contact Georgia Lee for more information on how to get involved,

Hope in Hands Food Pantry

Through the GISD principals and counselors, we learn how many children are in need. At Easter and Thanksgiving, we collect food and box holiday meals for those children’s families. We provide school supplies and breakfast items for kids who don’t get the cafeteria breakfast. Contact Erin Pettus for more information.

GISD School Partnership

The Reindeer Project

A Christmas assistance program serving GISD children and their families. We interview the parents to assess the needs and wishes of the children. Angel tags are created from this information and are on a tree for all to help. Partnering with First Christian Church in Rowlett and eight other churches, this is one of the largest ecumenical programs in our area.

Our church partners with Zoe Empowers in Kenya to help orphans and vulnerable children to become self sufficient members of the community. A working group of 75-100 children are educated by the indigenous Zoe staff in secure food and housing, hygiene and access to healthcare, child rights, vocational training and business skills, being part of a community, and spiritual strength.

ZOE Empowers African Mission Outreach

You have many opportunities throughout the year to assist others: Easter Meals, The Reindeer Project, Angel Tree, School Supplies, Relay for Life, Blood Drives, and Thanksgiving Meals. Be on the lookout for new ways to serve that we haven’t even thought of.

Seasonal Opportunities to Help

Be a part of our welcoming ministry, greeting guests on Sunday mornings, helping to set up and take down signage, and helping with our parking lot crew welcome and guide traffic. Contact Niki Burdett if you are interested in more information on any of these areas.

Welcoming Ministry

Serve the members of our congregation by sharing your artwork on the art wall by the Worship Center. Contact Kim Bonar for information on our current showings.
